Grassy Pond Water Company was formed in 1968 as a non-profit rural water company to serve drinking water to the northwest section of Cherokee County. At that time we served less than 300 customers. In 1984 we began serving parts of Cleveland and Rutherford Counties in North Carolina. Today our customer base has grown to over 3000.
Members of the company elect a Board of Directors that make the decisions governing the organization. A member is anyone who currently owns a tap in good standing. Grassy Pond Water Company is the second largest water provider in Cherokee County with a goal to provide safe, reliable drinking water at the lowest possible cost to everyone in our service area. As resources become available we are expanding into the areas that at this time do not have service. We pledge to provide the best service possible as we grow with our communities.
